So I've gone and done it now, I've joined the 60 million or so people with a blog and have joined the social media revolution.
I went to Sunderland University's "Delivering The New PR" conference yesterday and was inspired to start my own blog. So you can thank Tom Murphy and Stuart Bruce for my ramblings.
Three things dominate my life at the moment. As a head hunter recruitment has to be up there at the top (my boss will read this so lip service is required). Secondly PR is up there, as it is our niche industry to recruit in and what happens in PR impacts daily on our work. Thirdly it's my wedding. I used to be an independant, strong minded, practical, down to earth soul with a mortgage, cat, car and a secret penchant for chick lit - then on the 16th of May this year I became the proud owner of a sparkly diamond ring, a wedding planning book and the complete inability to walk past any bridal shop. I'm not quite bridezilla, but it's a not a long walk down that road. The Diary of Bridezilla can be read here, and yes, Mrs*S*to*be is me, and no it's not autobiographical.
Sarah, you are so right about the boss reading over your shoulder. Such is the tight knit world of bloggers covering PR and Comms.
Congratulations on the launch of your blog, it looks good. You must have been quaking a fair amount after the conference to have taken action so quickly.
I must say to all those Bride's to be out there, Sarah's book is well worth a read, you'll be chuckling most of the way through. Enjoy it, and most of all Sarah keep writing it, you elusive online bride to be celeb. :)

This blog looks great so far. As a newcomer to PR, I look forward to reading your thoughts on recruitment within the PR industry. Especially how/if you think blogs/social networking is going to change the way peolpe are recruited.

Many thanks for the congratulations Lydia. You started the Indigo Red blogging ball rolling!
Richard I'm always keen to hear from those entering into a career in PR. As a social media networker, you are ahead of the pack. Thank you for my welcome to the blogosphere!
